We hope you’re enjoying these last few weeks of summer! We are too - we’ve spent some of it whipping up an exciting TEDxNewYork event. But what is TEDxNewYork without the key ingredient - New Yorkers? Applications for TEDxNewYork close on August 21st - which is this Sunday! This is a gentle reminder for you to apply as soon as you can.
TEDxNewYork is happening on September 10th, 2016 at The SVA Theatre, and it will be the perfect event to close summer and ring in the fall. Our theme is “Down the rabbit hole”, and we have an eclectic group of speakers that will explore just how deep that phrase is. This includes Mark S. Luckie, Reddit’s head of media and formerly Twitter’s manager of journalism and news, Youngna Park, head of product at Tinybop, where she builds beautiful apps for kids, and Joanna Ebenstein, founder of Brooklyn’s Morbid Anatomy Museum. There’s something enjoyable for every kind of New Yorker - from literature and apartment housing investigation to death, comedy and political philosophy. This is one event you don’t want to miss.
We encourage you to apply to attend this special event. Make sure to put this on your to do list and apply as soon as possible. Be sure to spread the word: tell your friends, coworkers, roommates, partner, your partner’s friends, write a Facebook status. We want our audience to be a beautiful reflection of how wonderfully diverse New York City is.
In the coming weeks, we will share more news about TEDxNewYork with you. In the meantime, mark your calendars for a day filled with compelling talks, good food and great conversations.
We’re looking forward to reading your applications!
